This weekend, Matt and I drove up to Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL for my sister Georgina's (aka Gina or George) graduation. We left about 10am on Saturday and had a pleasant 5 hour drive to the Wheaton, IL area. Now as where our trip went pretty smoothly, my sister Patience and my Mom didn't fair as well. They had spent the Friday night in St. Louis at a friends house to cut the trip from Conway, AR to Wheaton, IL into two. It was the St. Louis to Wheaton phase of the trip that got them L*O*S*T. Not so much as on that t.v. show but pretty well lost. They made it to Wheaton about the same time that we did. Anyway, we got a chance to hang out with a wonderful Peruvian family from Georgina's Hispanic church the rest of the afternoon. They held a cookout at their house in Winfield, IL. We enjoyed some volleyball, basketball and great food and got to warm up to a huge bonfire in the backyard and roast marshemellows.

The next day was church and afterwards a quite celebration with some fabulous Chicago pizza at Giordanos. (The crust was unbelievably good!!!) We made it with plenty of time to Graduation without the usual hurrying. It was must be the Guenther element that's joined the family that's influenced us to be timely!

The graduation itself was really lovely. I'm must be getting sappier because there were tears in my eyes the whole time. 'For Christ and His Kingdom' is Wheaton's school theme. That theme was evident throughout the ceremony. The main speaker, Mark A. Knoll, a noted church historian, was a joy to listen to. Congratulations Georgina on your graduation!!!
